Match Day Coaching - USPSA or IDPA
Matches are where all your strengths and weaknesses are exposed. The Match Day Coaching is an opportunity to not only see how I manage myself through a match, but also for you to have a briefing before and after each stage to see how you can improve. This is where my “Layered Coaching” approach comes to life in each stage where 1-2 skills are worked on as well as stage planning is strategized to help bring light any deficiencies in your plan. After the match, a full debrief will take place with recommendations for improvement along with any videos of stages shot. Additionally, a 1-hour live-fire session will happen and we can tune up any other points in Live-fire exercises.

Drills can address kinesthetic skills, but other factors play into your success. Shooting a match tells me more about you as a shooter in how you handle everything from stage planning, mental capacity, nutrition, and competitive approach.

Yes, part of playing this sport is the volunteer aspect and we will be grouped into an actual squad. Part of playing this sport well is learning how manage this component while being a productive squamate. It can also lead to better match performance through certain subtleties that doesn't come to mind. Additionally, this is a mental sport and younger want to be in position that exposes your weaknesses (largely being lazy) if improvement is your goal.
Bear in mind, I’ll be shooting the match as well and I’ll be able to help the squad and coach you simultaneously! I love it and it only makes me better.

Assuming its the same match/day, upto 2 competitors can signup. This is to ensure that I have ample time to monitor, coach, and provide feedback… as well as shoot a match alongside you.

Texas weather is interesting because it can be cold and warm in the same day. So we recommend bringing multiple layers of clothing so you can adjust. Its a good idea to bring and keep gloves on until you’re ready to shoot in order to keep your finger dexterity at an optimal level.

Depends. Light rain with minimal time of rain, the class will be conducted. If heavy rain is prevalent, then the course is cancelled and will be rescheduled. We’re good at communicating these well in advance and will inform you if there are any concerns

Having attended multiple courses throughout the years, I’ve learned that most instructors tend to have a “blanket approach” to training, in which their curriculum is tailored to what they feel is important and that can be intimidating to a newer shooter. Not having done this my whole life, I recall the scarce resources to find info for the level I was at the time and the difficulty it was for me to catch up in some of these courses. So I developed courses and methods that are relevant to where a shooter is competitively speaking. After shooting over 100k rounds in the past 3 years and meeting thousands of shooters… I’ve seen commonalities to where a shooters deficiencies are as well as understand how to develop a shooter for where they are and where they want to go.
I keep classes small to ensure that optimal attention is given to all shooters who attend.
